This Jag came in for a setup and general once over, one thing being noted was the volume on tone pot weren’t working correctly.
On inspection I found the bridge had parcel tape wrapped round the posts, I assume to try to stabilise it? This tape wasn’t doing anything, so I replaced it with something that locks the bridge into position. Obviously this means the trem no longer works correctly.
A wire between the volume and tone pot was broken as the volume pot had become loose and was spinning round, this probably put too much tension on the wire and it snapped. It also nearly pulled the lug off the pot, but luckily I was able to bend it back into position and replace the wire.
The fretboard on this guitar was very dry and it drank up oil. Not only doesn’t it feel better but it looks a lot better too.
