The battery box on this Tanglewood had broken because the hole that it fitted in was a bit too small, so whenever the battery was removed that was too much stress on the clip and it eventually failed. I replaced it with a new unit.
There was also a crack in the body (also near the battery box) which may have contributed to the issue when it was caused. I glued it up but there was no requirement to make the repair invisible.
