This Takamine came in with a high action. On inspection I found the tops of the frets were way lower than the top of the bridge (not the saddle), they should be the same. This could be caused by a few things (but the was no bulging of the top that I could see or dipping where the fret board met the body) or it could have always been like this, the frets were also fret pitted and flat so with everything being a bit “wrong” it was hard to diagnose definitively what the issue really was. The nut looked low and had been shimmed previously but ones the frets had been levelled I hoped it would be useable. The neck seemed a bit wobbly and I wondered once I’d got it somewhere straight whether this would sort the misalignment with the bridge. Unfortunately it didn’t so I had to plane the bridge lower.
