Sunn Mustang

This old Sunn came in for a setup with some special attention to the string spacing the neck where it meets the body. The owner thought there had been some excessive “whammy action” which had somehow moved the bridge out of line but on inspection it all seemed fine, as did the neck in the neck pocket. The trem had in fact been effectively blocked off by tightening the claw screws so the springs were pulling it flat to the body so I’d be surprised if any whammy bar actions was happening at all! I changed the trem mounting screws for some hardened steel ones and it did make a small improvement.

The neck tone pot had worked loose and needed tightening. Setup with supplied Ernie Ball 10 – 46.
