This bass came in with a funny noise on the pre amp and a dodgy tuner on the G string. It was agreed that the pre amp wasn’t great and upgrade was the way to go rather than repair along with some new tuners. We went with the Dark Glass Tone Module and some Schaller BM’s.
I can see where the corner have been cut in this instrument, and fitting the Dark Glass was a pain as the connectors are bulky and unnecessary. The fret work isn’t great and would benefit from a level, it’s the same thing I’m seeing over and over again where QC seems to be none existent in that regard.
I had to unscrew the bridge to get the A string out as it was fouling on the body.
The tuners where just the wrong size so I had to plug the screw holes and re-drill.
Setup with supplied Ernie Ball 45 – 105.
