Some one had made a mess of the wiring on this Rick. It was more time effective (cheaper) to remove and replace everything, but as it turns out the switch was broken and the pots and caps were the wrong value.
Yes, I realise that I wired it up backwards, it’s been a long couple of months. Anyway, once it was the right way round it worked fine.
Setup in D with 11 – 49’s.
