This guitar came in for a re-wire with 50s wiring and general upgrade of the components. I know this could be a contentious issue but I’m not a fan of the “vintage caps and particular kind of pots make the tone better” camp. I’d be interested to hear peoples opinions that might change my mind.
I also changed the rather oversized nut for a bone one, not because I think bone makes a massive difference in sound, it’s just good to work with and the results are constant.
Interesting trick used hear if you wrap your strings over the tail piece where you use old string ends as kind of string extenders so that the sharp wrap on the string end doesn’t tear your palm to bits. Learnt from Joe Bonamassa’s tech apparently. Work well.
