I had top chase this one around a bit; the owner wanted it tuned to drop G# and for some reason this just wasn’t happening. First of the all the low string wouldn’t go through the tuner, we swapped for the newer PRS style but still had to drill it in the end. Then I couldn’t get the low G# to intonate, eve after removing the spring ad filing the corner of the saddle. In the end the saddle actually split.
After replacing the saddles I suggested a fret level might be the way to go as the frets might have been a bit flat. This seemed to do the trick.
Setup (in the end!) with D’Addario 10 – 74 8 string set, missing out the 10 and the 64 in drop G#.
