PRS SE in for a pickup swap and setup. The owner had started to do this but had issues with the bridge pickup plus the tap was working the wrong way round on the switch so they brought it to me.
There was no output and I found the wire to the jack had become twisted and failed at some point. I replaced this and had to remove the bridge pickup the owner had attempted to install (correctly) to get the neck pickup out.
Nice Seymour Duncans installed and the tap wired so it was working when the tone push/pull was pulled out.
When I came to set the guitar up and put strings on I found the nut was too low on the A and D strings. The frets were also very worn and pitted and I would recommend a fret level. Sometimes this will be enough to get the nut back but in this case it was too far gone. The owner elected to have a bone nut but passed on the fret level this time.
I managed to get the setup ok but at to raise the action to get passed the uneven frets.
