This Partscaster has been Frankestiened together from some form of Jaguar or Jazzmaster body and so the owner was told a Japanese Fender Telecaster neck. Some kind of Super Distortion copy humbucker has been put in the neck position and the wiring on the switch made all but two of the positions usable to my ears. the owner was happy with it the way it was and only complained that sometimes he got the low E string stuck under the edge of the bobbin on the humbucker.
To solve this I figured a cover would stop the string getting caught but this would require a new scratch plate as the existing one was crudely shaped to the bobbins and was literally just holding the pickup in place, allowing no adjustment at all.
I guess this one lives again.
