Fender Tele Jerry Donahue

Potentially a tough one, this Tele had been somewhere for a re-fret and the owner wasn’t happy. It’s near on impossible to assess what a guitar is like now when you don’t know what it was like before. I had to approach it with logic and the starting point was the frets, in my opinion needed a level, crown and polish. The nut looked like it wasn’t sitting flush and on inspection the slot was full of glue, the nut itself was also plastic. I cleaned the slot and made a bone replacement.

The frets came up well, the first fret was low and the top of the fret boards appeared to have more of a radius. Hopefully, now I’ve done my work it’ll suit the owner a little better but I await his verdict.

Setup with supplied D’Addario 10 – 46.
