This 70s Strat had a bridge pickup measuring lower than it should and sounding quiet and thin. Once I’d remove the pickup it measured fine… weird. Took some working out but there was a break or short in the coil that happened when the pickup was compressed with the pickup cover and spring holing it to the scratchplate. It wasn’t repairable so I rewound it.
