Fender Precision Bass

The P came in with a very high action and other issues (including mould on the fretboard) as it had been stored in a cellar, all be it tanked. This should act as a lesson not to do this.

The electronics were dirty and needed cleaning, some of the tuners were lose and I managed to tighten them up by turning the holding washer round. The strap buttons were lose and needed filling a re-drilling.

The neck was really bent and had way too much relief, the true rod was pretty much maxed out but I hoped could level the frets and get the bass playing again. The level went well but the neck was still very mobile and the truss rod wasn’t pulling back as much as was required.

Lighter strings might help and though improved it’s still not what I wanted it to be.
