Some jobs are harder than others and this fret level really went for the prize. It took quite a bit to bring these in line. The nut was also looking in bad shape with a big gap under the bass side. It turned out the nut slot was full of “stuff” pushing it out of line. When I removed the nut a but of lacquer popped off which I then needed to repair.
The owner adds string end so the wrap isn’t on the bend of the string, as they bring the strings over the tailpiece.
I checked the wiring and found the inside coils were switched off when the humbuckers were tapped.
Setup with supplied Elixir 10 – 52.
