The action was too low on this Gretsch and it was breaking strings. I couldn’t see any obvious reason for the breakage but the saddles looked rough and they didn’t match the radius. I filed them to make smooth and in line.
There was almost no relief on the neck meaning the strings were catching on the frets, it also made the nut seem low. I tossed the rod and it plays much better.
