Contacting Me.
The best way to contact me is by email or the contact form on this site. Please include your full name, contact telephone number, the make and model of instrument you’d like me to look at, your preferred string gauge and any other issues you’d like me to look at or information you feel would either be helpful or is important.
Strings.
When carrying out a setup I will need to change the strings, no matter how new they are. If the strings are not changed I cannot guarantee any of my work.
I stock D’Addario strings as standard and charge £6.99 per set for electric and £8.99 per set for acoustic guitar strings. If you would prefer a different brand just let me know and I can order them in, these will be charged at face value. You can also send your own strings in of course.
Dropping Off.
You can drop your guitar off at my workshop near Bradwell and Hope in the Peak District weekdays between 10 -12am and 1 – 4:30pm, apart from Thursdays when I only do afternoons. If it’s more convenient you can drop off at my home in Meersbrook, Sheffield on Monday – Thursday between 5:30 – 6:30pm. Let me know in advance when and where you’d like to come and I’ll book you in sending you the relevant address. Out of hours drop offs can also be arranged and I can sometimes do collection and delivery for a small charge.
Please note that if you can’t make it into the workshop drop offs at my home must be just that, drop offs only. I won’t be able to look at your guitar until I get it into the shop, so we can discuss any work that needs doing after that has happened. I have a young family and would appreciate your understanding in this matter.
It is important that you bring your guitar in a case or gig bag. While I take very good care or all instruments left in my care I cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur if you chose not to do this.
How long will it take?
In the interest of fairness I work through the guitars that I have in the order that they come into the workshop. Some jobs are bigger than others though so I will often work on other guitars during a large job to keep things moving. During busy periods it’s common for the turn around for standard jobs to be something like two weeks, but generally I turn things around in about one week or less. I work as quickly as I can but, in my experience doing a job well is better than doing it fast.
How much will it cost?
You can view a price list here.
Parts.
You are welcome to provide your own parts but I can provide these, sometimes cheaper than retail prices. I can also advise on what is most suitable so it’s always best to discuss this with me first. Costs will be added to the invoice once the work is completed.
When the work is done.
Once your guitar is ready I will contact you via email, if this is a problem let me know and we can arrange something else. The email will have a link so you can download your invoice, there is also a “pay now” button. This has been disabled and will just loop you to the same page if pressed. Please download the invoice to see my bank details. I will also include a link to a gallery that shows pictures of the work that’s been carried out.
Please check you spam/junk as sometimes it can end up in there. I accept payment via Bank Transfer (using the details on the invoice), cash or by card.
Picking up.
Please arrange to collect your guitar with me in advance using the same times that I outlined for drop offs; The Workshop: Mon – Fri, 10 – 12am and 1 – 4:30pm Meersbrook, Sheffield: Mon – Thur, between 5:30 – 6:30pm. Out of hours collections can also be arranged.
