This 90s Precision came in with the owner saying it sounded tinny. There were a few red herrings with this one; the first being the blend wasn’t really working so at first I didn’t realise that Jazz pick was broken. On top of that the pickups were plugged in the wrong way round.
Once I’d got the pickup apart I found one coil wasn’t working. I disconnected it to look at rewinding but I always test again when they are out of circuit. Lo and behold it worked and there was a dry joint somewhere causing the issue.
There was a fine tuner missing so I had to have one specially made, had to get four to make sure they matched.
An earth had also broken off the circuit board along with a loose output.
