This bass had an intermittent issue with its output. On inspection I found some dry joints, pots that were moving around with the potation to touch the cavity edge, which was covered with shielding paint and so could cause a short circuit. There were also some wires that were barely attached. I gave the bass a re-wire and cleaned everything up. The barrel jack had been held in place with some blueback, I removed this and tightened the bolt so the jack was firmly in place.
The bridge was bent, probably after years of pressure but there wasn’t anything I could do to repair it.
Setup with D’Addario 45 – 100.
