This well loved 70’s Guild came in for a setup and to have the “out of phase” switch re-instaided. On inspection it’s appears that the pickups aren’t the original HB1s (which have solder tags on the backs). I;m not sure what these are but they are the correct size (which is different from standard hum buckers). Because of the braided cable it’s not possible to wire them out of phase without sending the pickups ground to the output.
The pickup rings each had a carpet tack in one corner, not sure if this was a quick fix? certainly one I’ve not seen before.
It’s bee re-fretted as some point and the edges feel a little sharp and I would suggest a fret level would get the best out of this guitar. Still, it plays well with the supplied Ernie Ball 10 – 52s, setup in Eb.
